The Role

The University of London Press team has a fantastic opportunity for a new Editorial Assistant to join it at an exciting moment in its history.

We are looking to appoint a part-time (0.5 FTE) Editorial Assistant to play a key role in the management and development of our ambitious publishing programme of academic books. The postholder will provide editorial support on a variety of tasks across the full lifecycle of each book and contribute to the smooth running of the books programme as a whole. Key responsibilities include coordinating the peer review process, checking and preparing submitted manuscripts for production, liaising with authors to answer queries and support timely delivery of high-quality manuscripts, and monitoring publication schedules.

We are looking for someone who has excellent organisational and communication skills, high standards of accuracy and care, and proven experience working both independently and as part of a team in a professional environment. Prior experience in publishing is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
