What is the job?

We are looking for a resilient / motivated payroll admin who is detail orientated, enjoys problem solving and bringing query resolution within agreed SLAs. Someone with a high level of interpersonal skills, able to provide feedback to key stakeholders and manage issues through to resolution. You will be trained on how to run the various payrolls we operate in order to ensure delivery of a high level of service, processing accurate and timely payrolls in compliance with statutory regulations.

Critically important will be the candidate's ability and attitude to demonstrate a real excitement for the business and role, and be aligned to our values and behaviours.

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Ø Processing payrolls from beginning to end in accordance with current legislation, policies and processes, and time lines.
Ø Ensuring that all payroll transactions are approved by an appropriately authorised person.
Ø Checking and integrating information for new employees, processing leavers and changes to terms.
Ø Calculation of holiday payments, PILON and other associated termination payments.
Ø Calculation of absence including sickness, leave and statutory payments.
Ø Processing other payments/deductions, including auto-enrolment, pension salary sacrifice, SAYE, court orders, CMS payments and contractual payments.
Ø Ensuring that audit and statutory requirements are met.
Ø Inputting statutory changes, P45, P46, P6, and P9, student loan notices and court orders.
Ø Responsible for preparation timely reporting to external bodies including monthly reporting to HMRC, pensions, PAYE/NI etc.
Ø Payroll reports are created and distributed to the business and third parties as necessary, reporting errors to the Head of People.
Ø Submission of payroll reports and BACS to the Finance department for approval.
Ø Work as part of the wider People team about changes in payroll and finance for payroll payments and approvals.
Ø Lead in the finalisation of Month End and Year End payroll processing across all payrolls. P11Ds, P60s.
Ø Maintain confidentiality and ensure sensitive files are protected appropriately.
Ø Ensure payroll deadlines are met and quality levels are maintained.
Ø Processing checklists, trackers & logs are kept up to date on a daily basis.
Ø Monitoring and resolution of all matters address to the payroll inbox and dealing with queries in a timely manner.
Ø Perform any other tasks associated with the end to end payroll administration to complete payrolls within agreed deadlines
Ø Policies & procedures are followed.

Ø Maintain up to date knowledge of payroll legislation changes that may impact payroll processing including UK Pension Regulations, Working Time Regulations, and internal policies & procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential
Ø Proven payroll knowledge and legislation
Ø Knowledge of UK manual tax and national insurance calculations
Ø Pension – Auto enrolment knowledge and legislation
Ø A confident user of Excel, Word, Vlookups etc
Ø Good communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to work independently or as a member of a team
Ø Invested in promoting a customer centric based approach and operate with discretion
Ø The ability to be pro-active, flexible, and adaptable while problem solving when required
Experience of working in a fast-paced, growing environment
