Salary from £29,935 to £33,104 per annum inclusive with potential to progress to £35,441 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years with extension subject to funding.

The Institute Administrator will be responsible for the provision of efficient, professional and proactive administrative support. The post holder will be responsible for office-based requests, including meeting support and event activity, and be the first point of contact for visitors and enquiries. Working in a team of three institute administrators, and working closely with their line manager, this role will support the office environment and facilities with particular responsibility for assisting with the organisation of HR activities such as recruitment, induction, and the visiting fellow nomination process (working closely with the Operations Manager) and providing diary support to the Institute Director. They will provide a high standard of service and making a positive contribution to the team the post holder will work collaboratively under limited supervision.

Candidates with experience of working in an administrative capacity will be expected to be highly organised with the ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and work to deadlines and have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to understand and convey information in a clear and accurate manner. They will also have excellent IT skills and the ability to maintain databases, with evidence of the ability to work in an organised and accurate way across a varied workload.

As a Research Institute we are very keen to support an office environment that supports and enables approximately 100 staff members to deliver on a wide variety of research and policy relevant activities. For this purpose, the post is primarily office based to support these functions.
