And right now, we are looking for a Claims Validation Officer to join Saga's Claims Fraud Team.

You will be responsible for the investigation of potentially fraudulent claims and ensure that genuine claims are cleared back to the claims' teams at the earliest opportunity, keeping costs to a minimum.

Also to ensure that appropriate investigations are carried out where required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Desk based investigation of insurance claims and other suspected fraudulent insurance activity.
  • Utilise investigative and data search tools to investigate suspected fraudulent activity.
  • Conduct investigative interviews to identify and confirm irregularities in claims activity.
  • Collect and analyse information and recommend appropriate action.
  • Collate information on fraudulent activity, and produce witness statements for escalation to law firms, law enforcement agencies and Insurance Industry bodies and companies.
  • Ensure that claims, policy systems and company intelligence records are accurate and reliable.
  • Ensure that a consistent ratio of incoming claims against settled claims is achieved.
  • Negotiate and settle claims within your personal authority limit without referral.
  • Achieve consistent financial savings results.
  • Work closely with other members of the Claims Validation Team to recommend developments to the fraud detection and prevention systems and to assist in implementing these developments.
  • Act as a referral point for others in the business who need support and decisions made upon claims and other incidents that have suspicious aspects to them.
  • Contribute proportionally to the team's achievement of all its targets.
  • Excellent customer skills and the ability to spot and challenge unusual (and fraudulent) behaviour.
  • Ability to manage own workload.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Problem solver.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of insurance claims handling and claims negotiation.
  • Some claims validation experience.
  • Good standard of secondary education.
