Opportunity Overview

We are currently seeking a Claims Support Specialist to join our dynamic Construction & Engineering team. This position is ideal for a motivated individual eager to contribute to an established team. The role is primarily home-based, with occasional travel required.

Key Responsibilities

As a Claims Support Specialist, your duties will encompass:

  • Managing the administration of new claims, including receiving instructions, issuing acknowledgments, setting up files, and conducting risk assessments.
  • Collaborating closely with Adjusters to assist in investigations, claims management, and validation inquiries.
  • Overseeing the lifecycle of claims files to enhance diary management and support proactive claims management from initiation to resolution.
  • Providing support to Adjusters in managing their caseloads during periods of absence.
  • Engaging with insured parties, insurers, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal customer service, serving as a secondary point of contact when necessary.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports for Adjusters, adhering to professional standards and internal guidelines within agreed timelines.
  • Supporting the development of co-insurers' apportionment spreadsheets.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal standards for time reporting and billing processes.
  • Generating and managing information for clients and internal use, including performance metrics and data integrity reports.
  • Upholding company standards in relation to technical and operational policies, including data protection and information security.
  • Providing account management support as needed.
  • Handling incoming calls and resolving queries effectively.
  • Managing invoicing processes.
  • Performing other ad hoc tasks as required.

Candidate Profile - Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience as a claims technician, with a focus on caseload management.
  • A strong interest in construction-related insurance matters, coupled with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • An organized, methodical, and analytical approach to work, demonstrating pride in the quality of deliverables.
  • A capacity for self-managing workload while being an effective team player.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and conflicting demands.
  • Adept at thriving in high-pressure environments.
  • Driven to meet and exceed performance targets.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
