Field-Based Claims Underwriter

Job Overview:

This role is suited for professionals who excel in a fast-paced setting and are committed to delivering outstanding customer support. As a claims professional, you will assist clients with various claims, including property damage, contents loss, or art-related incidents in high-value residences. Your duties will encompass evaluating policy coverage, assessing damage severity, providing mitigation advice, and finalizing repairs and settlements.

In addition to offering superior service to our brokers and clients, you will have the independence to make decisions regarding all types of property claims, particularly focusing on water damage incidents. This position will primarily serve Central London and nearby regions, necessitating a flexible travel approach.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service while achieving service level agreements and targets
  • Develop tailored action plans for each claim and oversee the process from investigation to resolution
  • Negotiate and resolve claims in a fair and efficient manner
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other parties to manage building projects
  • Address inquiries and provide risk management advice
  • Participate in team initiatives within the Technical Team
  • Exhibit proactivity in claims management and adapt to varying customer requirements
  • Attend office meetings and training sessions as needed

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in field-based claims management
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capability to work autonomously
  • Technical expertise in claims handling
  • Knowledge of construction practices and drying methods
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Valid UK Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications:

  • ACII/ACILA or equivalent certifications
  • Understanding of risk management principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
