Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Development Underwriter - Professional Indemnity Specialist to join our team at Claims Recruitment Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving new business development and servicing our UK South Regional broker partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting: Review applications and financial requirements for risks, and determine the acceptability of each risk.
  • Pricing: Define appropriate pricing based on financial and competitive analysis.
  • Quotations: Prepare quotations and answer questions from Brokers, policyholders or other external contacts, escalating issues to management as needed.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with Brokers to achieve positive and profitable outcomes, as well as notifying them of any adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, underwriting requirements, status and declinations.
  • Market Development: Market products and services throughout the brokerage community and make field visits.
  • Broker Relationships: Develop and maintain Broker relationships.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous Professional Indemnity experience in either an Underwriting or Broking capacity.
  • Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of the Professional Indemnity Market and Brokers.
  • Relationship Management: Strong relationship management skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
