Job Summary

Lancashire Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Underwriting Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting department, you will play a critical role in supporting the underwriting process and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our risk assessment and pricing models.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Underwriting Support: Provide accurate and timely support to underwriters in recording and assessing underwriting risk information, including data entry and validation.
  2. Risk Analysis: Assist in the analysis of risk information and the development of pricing models to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  3. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of underwriting data, utilizing various internal and external software systems.
  4. Reporting: Assist in the production of regular and ad hoc business reports, including statistical analysis of the portfolio and deal-by-deal reporting.
  5. Communication: Liaise with brokers, underwriters, operations, finance, and legal teams to resolve queries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Professional Development: Continuously build knowledge of insurance markets, risk analysis, and technical understanding to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
