We are seeking an experienced US Property Underwriter to join our team at Carbon Underwriting. As a key member of our property team, you will play a crucial role in achieving our ambitious goals and contributing to the growth of our US-focused Syndicate 5757.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in underwriting US property risks, with a minimum of 5+ years' experience in the delegated authority space. You will be responsible for leading new business onboarding and renewal processes, liaising with syndicate and managing agency departments, and identifying new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing binding authority business plans.
- Liaising with actuarial, claims, compliance, exposure management, and delegated authority teams.
- Oversight of binder portfolios, including spotting trends and monitoring performance against plan.
- Identifying new business opportunities and working closely with cross-class initiatives.
- Assisting in marketplace monitoring and developing relationships with brokers and other key stakeholders.
- Maintaining strong relationships with coverholders and brokers.
- Ownership of day-to-day referral underwriting within individual underwriting authority parameters.
- Assisting in the execution of business development and marketing plans.
- Attending and leading client meetings and executing follow-up research and actions.
- Contributing to internal peer review and coverholder oversight meetings.
- Working with other syndicate departments to identify areas for continuous improvement.
We are looking for a professional with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills, who can offer creative solutions and demonstrate a commitment to client needs.
