We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Underwriter to join our team at Itechpost. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our clients, identifying new business opportunities, and making sound underwriting decisions to support the growth and profitability of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and Grow a Portfolio of Accounts
Manage a portfolio of accounts, comprised of routine to moderately complex accounts across various products, to ensure profitability, growth, and retention.
Underwrite and Negotiate RisksUnderwrite and skillfully negotiate moderate risks to minimize risk and maximize profitability, including Mid Term Adjustments (MTAs).
Proactively Manage Your PortfolioProactively manage your portfolio, ensuring key performance indicators are consistently achieved and you actively target new business and retention.
Identify and Address Risk CharacteristicsIdentify and take corrective action in collaboration with your Manager/Team on individual risk characteristics identified through Portfolio Management.
Capture Opportunities for Additional BusinessIdentify and capture opportunities to write additional lines of business using knowledge of products, risk characteristics, and appetite.
Utilize Technology PlatformsProactively utilize various technology platforms to quote and bind risk efficiently.
Provide Underwriting ReviewsProvide input and support the presentation of Underwriting Reviews for individual policies or portfolios and manage action points.
Cultivate Relationships with Internal PartnersCultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners within the business unit and across the enterprise to identify cross-selling opportunities.
Foster Relationships with BrokersFoster and maintain relationships with brokers by phone, email, or other communication channels to market and sell Travelers products with a goal of writing and retaining accounts consistent with our risk appetite.
Stay Up-to-Date with Industry KnowledgeGood knowledge of products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
Apply Critical Thinking SkillsGood critical thinking skills with the ability to underwrite, market products, identify financial challenges, and analyze available information to make decisions in alignment with our risk appetite.
Participate in ProjectsParticipate in projects that involve analysis and the implementation of non-complex, routine business and regulatory changes relating to the enhancement, maintenance, or introduction of new products.
