Job Summary:

Salus Insurance is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for providing technical underwriting support and guidance to our business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical underwriting support and guidance to our business partners, including individual referrals and complex risk underwriting.
  • Take ownership of large and complex risk underwriting projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of insurance principles, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement underwriting strategies and policies.
  • Participate in and contribute to the development and performance of our underwriting system.
  • Act within agreed underwriting authorities and participate in tasks or projects as requested.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Property and Casualty Underwriter, with a strong understanding of insurance principles and regulations.
  • Experience working in an MGU/MGA and/or managing delegated authority binding authorities.
  • Advanced understanding of insurance principles and an understanding and appreciation of FCA guidance relating to TCF and Conduct Risk.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
