Job Title: Reinsurance Claims Adjuster
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Remote (London Market)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Reinsurance Claims Adjuster to join our team. As a Reinsurance Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing claims within the company's Reinsurance portfolio, comprising Property and Specialty Treaty and Casualty Reinsurance claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Management: Proactively manage new and existing Treaty Claims, handling claims in accordance with the company's claims philosophy and guidelines.
- Claims Handling: Handle significant and complex Inward Reinsurance Claims, and take technical referral of claims above authority from the Inward Reinsurance Claims Team.
- Technical Claims Handling: Carry out technical claims handling reviews for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility.
- Reserve Setting: Set reserves and risk flags, assessing FGU, and calculating/paying claims within authority and service levels.
- Claim Referral: Refer claims to senior members of the team, as per authority and guidelines.
- Quarterly Catastrophe Estimates: Assist on internal quarterly catastrophe estimates and large loss claims reviews.
- Document Preparation: Prepare and distribute documents for claims-related reports.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders on claims-related queries.
- Team Meetings: Attend and participate in regular Claims team and Underwriting meetings.
- Training and Development: Work with the Claims Manager to plan and deliver the team training schedule.
Requirements:
- Experience: Experience in a similar role within Reinsurance, with experience of adjusting both Property and Casualty claims. Candidates with relevant Broking/Legal backgrounds will also be considered.
- Industry Expertise: A broad range of industry expertise, relationships, and market knowledge, including the ability to handle complex claims.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Office suite and knowledge of Tableau or Power BI.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Designations: Completion or near completion of industry-related designation(s) - ARe, AIC, ACII, CPCU.
