Opportunity Overview
We are currently seeking a Claims Support Specialist to become a vital part of our Construction & Engineering team. This position is ideal for a motivated individual eager to join a well-established group. The role is primarily home-based, with occasional travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As a Claims Support Specialist, your duties will encompass:
- Managing the administration of new claims, including receiving instructions, issuing acknowledgments, setting up files, and conducting risk assessments and triaging.
- Collaborating closely with Adjusters to assist in investigations, claims management, and validation inquiries.
- Overseeing the lifecycle of claims files to enhance diary management and support proactive claims handling from initiation to resolution.
- Providing assistance in managing Adjuster caseloads during periods of absence.
- Communicating with insured parties, insurers, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure exceptional customer service, acting as a secondary point of contact when necessary.
- Supporting the preparation of technical reports for Adjusters, adhering to professional standards and internal guidelines within agreed timelines.
- Assisting in the creation of co-insurers' apportionment spreadsheets.
- Ensuring compliance with internal standards for time reporting and billing processes.
- Developing and generating management information for clients and internal use, including performance metrics and data integrity reports.
- Maintaining adherence to company standards concerning all technical and operational policies, including data protection and information security.
- Providing account management support as needed.
- Handling incoming calls and resolving queries.
- Managing invoicing tasks.
- Performing other ad hoc duties as required.
Candidate Profile - Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a claims technician, with a focus on caseload management.
- A strong interest in construction-related insurance matters, coupled with a willingness to learn and grow.
- An organized, methodical, and analytical approach to work, with a strong emphasis on quality output.
- Ability to self-manage workload while being a collaborative team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of juggling multiple priorities and conflicting demands.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
- Driven to meet and exceed performance targets.
- Willingness to travel as required.
