Job summary
The Medical Administrator / Reception Team Leader will work alongside the Assistant PracticeManager in overseeing the day-to-day work of the Medical Administration / Reception team. The TeamLeader will provide leadership and support to the Medical Administrators / Receptionists to ensure theyare able to perform all administrative and reception duties effectively and to a highstandard, meeting the objectives and core values of the Practice.Whilst carrying out the day-to-day primary duties of a Medical Administrator / Receptionist, the TeamLeader will work alongside the Assistant Practice Manager in supervising, training anddeveloping the Medical Administration / Reception team to ensure they achieve their responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
Act as a first point of contact for team members when they need support on thefront desk or on the telephones with difficult situations and enquiries, helping toreduce day-today interruptions and pressures for the Assistant Practice Manager.
Help to provide guidance and direction to team members where required.
Help to ensure changes / updates are communicated to all Medical Administrators / Receptionists and that written guidance is up to date , on TeamNet, the whiteboard, and inthe desk folders.
Support the Assistant Practice Manager with the induction and training of newstaff, ensuring it is structured and consistent.
Help to identify ongoing training needs and to ensure training / guidance isprovided to team members where required or requested.
Support the Assistant Practice Manager in regular team meetings.
Voice ideas, questions and concerns on behalf of the team , during Practicemeetings.
Assist the Rota Manager with organising cover for unexpected staff absence,looking ahead to ensure there is cover the expected duration of absence andcommunicating with the team.
Escalate issues to the Assistant Practice Manager appropriately.
Weekly / monthly protected time with the Assistant Practice Manager to feed backany areas for concern.
