Your next role

We are looking for an Administration Officer to be responsible for letting of vacant garages and the efficient and effective collection of garage income. You must be enthusiastic, very much a team player and happy to work under pressure towards achieving several key targets. 

What’s the role all about?

Responsible for the management of all 3000 council garage tenancies and letting of vacant garages. Providing support for general queries to do with garages, rent and former tenant arrears in the absence of colleagues. Monitoring and review accounts regularly, complete arrears progression and take the relevant action as outlined within the procedure to recover any arrears Serving notices to end garage agreements for rent arrears where required Preparing basic performance reports for PI monitoring purposes Ensuring customer account information is accurate and up to date, by providing detailed case notes and records of action taken concerning arrears, as required Liaising with internal colleagues and external agencies including void turnaround and repairs Maintaining garage waiting list, adding applications and ensuring checks are carried out Preparing and request write-offs for relevant garage accounts, ensuring policy adherence and alignment with best practice.

You will need previous experience in a front-line customer-facing role, preferably in a social housing environment or role relating to income recovery, with a strong customer focus and willingness to go the ‘extra mile’. In addition, you must have excellent communication and customer handling skills, be a good negotiator with the ability to handle conflict carefully to find a suitable resolution and excellent IT skills, have good attention to detail, and an excellent work ethic.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
