Job Introduction

We are searching for a highly skilled and experienced Development Manager proficient in Next.js, TypeScript to join our Global Technology Services at William Grant & Sons. As a Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and implementation of our web applications, ensuring high-quality code, and guiding the technical direction of the project, while also managing a small team of Developers.

Main Responsibility

Leading the technical architecture and development of web applications with the Technical Architects and Solution Engineers using Next.js, TypeScript, Headless/MACH architecture. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product owner, marketing, and other developers to define requirements and deliver features. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards. Performing code reviews to maintain code quality, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with architectural guidelines. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on project timelines. Staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending adoption of new tools and techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Our Ideal Candidate

Proven experience as a Development Manager or Senior Developer in web application development projects. Strong proficiency in Next.js, TypeScript, with a deep understanding of their respective ecosystems and best practices. Experience with modern web development technologies such as React, GraphQL, and Headless/MACH architecture. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is preferred.
