Overview of the role

Working as an Apprentice Project Manager you will play a key role in Delkia’s future, strengthening the concept, design, planning and execution of strategically important projects. With an understanding of project management methodologies, the role is to support the Programme Manager with the commercial and financial management aspects associated to the delivery of projects.


Key responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with project teams to deliver the assigned project to defined cost, schedule, and quality requirements, leading to a successful handover.
  • Support tender submissions from a project management perspective.
  • Prepare schedules and monitor progress against established baselines.
  • Tracking and monitoring project spending and reporting variances, using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
  • Establishing and maintain weekly reporting, by setting up regular internal and external team meetings.
  • Prepare meeting packs/presentations, capturing minutes, agreed actions, updating teams and senior management.
  • Positively influence key stakeholders (both internal & external) associated with the project.
  • Developing and maintaining project documentation templates.
  • Ensuring all project deliverables are completed in line with the schedule.
  • Identify potential dependencies, assumptions, risks, exceptions, opportunities (DAREO), project problems, mitigation contingencies and implement corrective actions. Highlighting where updates or escalations are required.
  • Play an active part in lessons identified process across all projects and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain established processes and develop new as required.
  • Take ownership and pride in your work, promoting project management success through the team.


Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:

  • Degree (or working to) in Project Management (desirable)
  • APM Project Management Qualification (desirable)
