About the role:

The Highways Development Control team look after highway related interests on residential and commercial developments. It works with external developers, planning authorities and specialist colleagues from conception to completion and use. This is a key role within the team that acts as the main point of contact on a day to day basis.

About you:

  • Ability to understand and apply a range of highway related technical and policy standards in real world environments.
  • Knowledge of planning and highway related processes.
  • Flexible approach to duties.
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities and workloads.
  • Personable attitude but firm and fair in application of policies and standards.

What you will do:

  • Receive and assess planning consultations from local planning authorities [LPA]
  • Provide feedback to developers, agents and the LPA to support decisions on planning consents from simple householder applications for extensions to large housing or commercial developments.
  • Coordinate with specialist colleagues to ensure all relevant aspects are considered.
  • Support the ongoing implementation of highway works after planning consent, working with other colleagues to keep them up to date on progress.
