Job Overview

This role is based within the mortuary department at Princess Royal University Hospital Orpington. The mortuary provides a full range of services, including body storage, post-mortem facilities, and viewing areas for relatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the office, performing clerical and administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate records. They will also assist with the admission and release of deceased patients, prepare deceased individuals for viewings, and liaise with various staff members.

Main Duties

  • Manage day-to-day office operations
  • Clerical and administrative support
  • Admission and release of deceased patients
  • Prepare deceased individuals for viewings
  • Maintain accurate mortuary databases and registers
  • Coordinate post-mortem scheduling
  • Ensure general disinfection and cleaning of non-clinical mortuary areas
  • Liaise with staff members, including pathologists, clinicians, and funeral directors

Requirements

  • Educated to GCSE level A-C grade or equivalent, including English and Maths
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Estimated Salary: £28,622 - £30,225 per annum
