Mortuary Administration Specialist

This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to join the mortuary team at Kings College Hospital. As a Mortuary Administration Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the mortuary department.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an organised and detail-oriented individual to assist with the day-to-day administration of the mortuary office. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing databases, and providing administrative support to the mortuary team.
Main Responsibilities- Manage and maintain accurate records of deceased patients, including demographic details and post-mortem scheduling.
- Provide administrative support to the mortuary team, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and preparing documents.
- Maintain up-to-date databases and registers, ensuring accurate and timely information.
- Conduct viewings and prepare deceased patients, while dealing with bereaved relatives in a compassionate and respectful manner.
- Liaise with various grades of staff, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Understand and work to the guidelines of Human Tissue Authority, Association of Anatomical Pathology Technology, Royal College of Pathologist, Trust Standard Procedures and Local Procedures.
- Educated to GCSE level A-C grade or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
