We are seeking an experienced Anatomical Pathology Specialist to lead our Mortuary Services team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mortuary services, with experience in performing post-mortems and ensuring the highest standards of care for the deceased.

About the Role

This is a key position within our trust, requiring a skilled professional who can work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for leading the Mortuary Services team, providing training and guidance to junior staff members, and maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Mortuary Services team, ensuring that all activities are carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff members on Mortuary procedures and best practices
  • Maintain accurate records of all Mortuary activities, including post-mortem reports and laboratory results
  • Ensure that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and cleaned
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in Anatomical Pathology Technology, with a Level 4 Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in leading a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures, with the ability to maintain a safe working environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.

Location

The role is based at the Royal London Hospital, E1 2ES, with easy access to public transport links.
