Anatomical Pathology Specialist

Barts Health NHS Trust is a leading healthcare provider in east London, committed to delivering high-quality patient care and improving health outcomes. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Mortuary team as a Senior Anatomical Pathology Technologist (SAPT) Band 6.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide mortuary services, including post-mortem provision for adults, perinatal/paediatric cases, and care of the deceased. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of mortuary services, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
The Cellular Pathology and Cancer Diagnostics Division provides diagnostic and screening services for North East London, and we are proud to have an excellent training record. Our facilities are close to underground and DLR services, making it easy for staff to commute to work. Main Duties
- Assist in all aspects of mortuary services, including post-mortem provision for adults, perinatal/paediatric cases, and care of the deceased.
- Provide support to trainee APTs, ensuring they reach the standard required to pass the level 3 diploma.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure effective communication and coordination of mortuary services.
