Mortuary Technician

Great Ormond Street Hospital Mortuary is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Anatomical Pathology Technologist to join our team.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomical pathology and excellent communication skills to provide exceptional service to families and healthcare professionals.
The role will involve participating in mortuary procedures, including administration, cleaning, and assistance at post-mortem examinations.
The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring accurate documentation and electronic records, receiving and making calls, and participating in the routine and specialist work of the Department.
The successful candidate will have a Certificate and Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology, experience in a mortuary environment, and excellent organisational skills.
The role requires the ability to work without supervision, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Human Tissue Authority, Health and Safety Executive, and other relevant standards and guidelines.
Main Duties of the Job- To participate in all mortuary procedures.
- To ensure accurate documentation and electronic records.
- To receive and make calls.
- To participate in the routine and specialist work of the Department.
- To maintain expertise and awareness of developments that affect the service provided.
- To keep up-to-date with current mortuary and bereavement practices and guidance.
