Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Hearing Centre Casework Manager. As a key member of our Office of the Traffic Commissioner (OTC), you will play a critical role in preparing and managing complex public inquiry and hearing cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage public inquiry and hearing cases, ensuring all functions are carried out in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Collate evidence into public inquiry bundles and ensure the Traffic Commissioner has all relevant papers to make informed decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with parties and legal representatives, ensuring a joined-up approach to all functions.
  • Represent the Traffic Commissioner at meetings with stakeholders and provide briefing or supporting documents as required.
  • Make and progress evidence-based decisions on cases under delegated authority, in accordance with Statutory Documents and Operating Instructions.
Requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify relevant issues and draft clear and concise briefing.
  • Experience of communicating and working with senior stakeholders, using effective methods to keep stakeholders engaged throughout.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adhering to and delivering tight deadlines in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Experience of interpreting complex legislation, with an understanding of the function of courts and tribunals.
