About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Casework Officer to join our team at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). As a key member of our Licensing Casework team, you will play a crucial role in processing new and variation applications for goods vehicle (HGV) and public passenger vehicles (PSV) operator licenses and bus registrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process new and variation applications for HGV and PSV operator licenses and bus registrations, ensuring all necessary information is received and processed within legislative requirements.
  • Accurately record data provided on application forms and manage a caseload with competing deadlines and tasks.
  • Provide help and advice to applicants, where required, and act as the first point of contact for customer/operator enquiries.
  • Liaise with internal and external departments to ensure customer needs are met and requirements are fully communicated throughout the business.
Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will be someone who is thorough with their work, has exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will also have experience in delivering excellent customer service and be confident in communicating with customers through various channels.

You will thrive in a busy environment, managing a varied workload, and have fantastic administrative and organizational skills to balance and prioritize tasks. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will enable you to effectively deliver messages to others, ensuring clarity and understanding.
