{"Job Title": "Elderly Care Specialist", "Job Summary": "We are seeking an experienced Elderly Care Specialist to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As an Elderly Care Specialist, you will work closely with our Elderly Care consultants to provide specialist and advanced clinical skills support to medical staff and the nursing team. Your primary responsibility will be to assess individual patient needs, initiate investigations, determine a differential diagnosis, and initiate appropriate holistic, evidence-based treatment and care. You will also be responsible for triaging patients, prioritizing clinical need, and highlighting and initiating treatment plans by following agreed Trust guidelines and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide specialist and advanced clinical skills support to medical staff and the nursing team
* Assess individual patient needs, initiate investigations, determine a differential diagnosis, and initiate appropriate holistic, evidence-based treatment and care
* Triage patients, prioritize clinical need, and highlight and initiate treatment plans by following agreed Trust guidelines and protocols
* Work autonomously, using your expertise to make decisions and take action
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care

Requirements:

* 1st level registered nurse/AHP - with substantial experience
* Registered Mentor
* Degree level study to Masters level or equivalent experience
* Advanced clinical skills qualification at level 7
* Non-medical prescribing qualification
* Demonstrate thorough understanding of expanded scope of professional practice issues
* Evidence of continuing academic and professional development - ENB998/730 or equivalent
