About This Role

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join our innovative Community Response Services team within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This unique opportunity offers a 9-month rotational program, exposing you to diverse settings across Acute (North Tyneside General Hospital & Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital), Community (based at Cobalt Business Exchange) and Intermediate Care.

Your Impact

This rotation allows you to gain invaluable clinical experience in a wide range of specialities, including but not limited to:

  • Care of the Elderly
  • Acute and Emergency Medicine
  • Surgery
  • Respiratory
  • Orthopaedics
  • Community Rehabilitation

You will have the chance to develop your clinical specialist area of interest while contributing to leadership, quality improvement initiatives, audits, and research projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy services in your specialized areas, adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize service delivery within resource constraints and ensure effective implementation across various settings.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, providing specialist assessments, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Manage a defined caseload of patients (often with complex needs), utilizing clinical reasoning skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous professional development through ongoing learning and skill enhancement.

Qualifications & Experience

We are seeking candidates who possess:

  • A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience working in varied healthcare settings (desirable)
  • Experience working in a community setting (desirable)
  • Experience working in an acute and/or inpatient rehabilitation setting (desirable)
