Role Overview
The University of York seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join its Student Administration and Academic Affairs team as an officer. This role involves contributing to the delivery of key areas of work and the implementation of associated policies, including supporting the Special Cases and Complaints team.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve student appeals and complaints in a fair and efficient manner.
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and students on university regulations and policies.
- Collaborate with the Special Cases and Complaints team to develop and implement complaint handling procedures.
- Communicate outcomes to students and maintain accurate records of complaints and appeals.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Educated to at least A Level standard or equivalent, with strong IT skills and ability to use Microsoft and Google Suite products.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide detailed advice and guidance.
- Ability to effectively organise and prioritise work, with a professional and diplomatic approach to dealing with a wide range of people and situations.
- Highly motivated and able to learn quickly, with a thorough approach to work and an eye for detail.
