The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in West Sussex. As an EMHP, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in education settings.

About the Role

As an EMHP, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to identify and address the mental health needs of children and young people. You will deliver evidence-based interventions, including low-intensity CBT-informed therapy, to support the emotional wellbeing and mental health of your clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver low-intensity, CBT-informed 1:1 therapeutic mental health assessments and interventions with children and young people, and/or their families.
  • Work flexibly with a range of professionals and other adults to communicate effectively and build therapeutic rapport with clients.
  • Manage an allocated caseload and complete data recording and paperwork as required.
  • Assess risk and record and communicate it appropriately, taking necessary actions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients.

You will need to have excellent time management, organisational, and communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a good knowledge of the education system and evidenced-based mental health interventions.
