The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in West Sussex. As an EMHP, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in education settings.

About the Role

As an EMHP, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to identify and address the mental health needs of children and young people. You will deliver evidence-based interventions, including low-intensity CBT-informed 1:1 therapeutic mental health assessments and interventions. You will also work with schools to develop and implement whole-school approaches to emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions in education settings for mild to moderate mental health issues.
  • Support the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole-school approach.
  • Give timely advice to school staff and liaise with external specialist services to help children and young people get the right support and stay in education.
About You

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, an effective team player, and demonstrates integrity, openness, and awareness of others. You will need to have excellent time management, organisational, and communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to have a good knowledge of the education system and evidenced-based mental health interventions.
