Job Title: Practice Development and Education Lead

The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a highly skilled professional to assume the pivotal role of ensuring alignment of department, directorate, divisional, and corporate practice development, education, and training activities for non-medical staff.

The successful candidate will support informed investment of educational resources in meeting service needs and priorities that benefits patients and staff.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with students, new starters, and existing staff to provide support, education, and opportunities for staff development and career guidance.
  • Lead the Nursing Education Team in their department (Neuro ICU), reviewing and developing education activities, leading in-house training, and programmes delivery.
  • Contribute to the annual review and development of the strategic education plan for non-medical staff.

Neurosciences Intensive Care is a specialist critical care unit offering a comprehensive induction and tailor-made orientation programme. We have a range of development and learning opportunities available, including progression pathways within management, education, or research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote an environment that encourages learning and sustains the personal and professional development of all non-medical staff within Neuro ICU.
  • Utilise the Oxford Model for exemplary professional nursing and midwifery practice and the NHS Change Model in promoting practice development and education for all non-medical staff.
  • Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities for students, new starters, and existing members of non-medical staff.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with first degree in Nursing
  • Qualified Mentor
  • PG Cert in Adult Critical Nursing or other equivalent critical care qualification
  • Significant experience in an area of clinical practice relevant to the speciality (minimum of 4 years, including 1 year as CPE and relevant clinical experience at a band 6 level in critical care)
Salary:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
