Job Title: Clinical Practice Lead

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a leading teaching trust in the country, providing a wide range of general and specialist clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

The Clinical Practice Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring alignment of departmental, directorate, divisional, and corporate practice development, education, and training activities for non-medical staff. The post holder will lead in identifying education and training needs of staff and planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities for students, new starters, and existing members of non-medical staff within their directorate in NOTSSCaN Division.

Main Duties:
  • The post holder will work a minimum of 40% of their time as supernumerary working with students, new starters, and existing staff to provide support, education, and opportunities for staff development and career guidance, offering regular feedback.
  • The CL will work a maximum of 60% of their time leading and managing the Nursing Education Team in their department (Neuro ICU), being the primary Lead for the Education Team, reviewing and developing education activities, leading in-house training and programmes delivery, attending meetings relating to practice development and education activities/programmes.
  • In conjunction with other ACPEs, CPEs, Unit Manager, Team Leaders, Matrons, and the Divisional Lead for Practice Development and Education in NOTSSCaN Division, the CL will participate and contribute to the annual review and development of the strategic education plan for non-medical staff.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with first degree in Nursing
  • PG Cert in Adult Critical Nursing or other equivalent critical care qualification
  • Significant experience in an area of clinical practice relevant to the speciality (minimum of 4 years, including 1 year as CPE and relevant clinical experience at a band 6 level in critical care)
  • Able to cope with difficult interpersonal situations, competing demands, and tight timescales
  • Passionate about education as a tool to improve quality of care and support professional practice
  • Has or is working towards a recognised post registration teaching qualification
  • Has or is working towards a MSc in Education
  • Completion of a leadership development programme or equivalent qualification
  • Clinical Supervision Facilitator
  • Able to critique and interpret aggregate information based on an understanding of clinical, data, and information processes and analytical skills
  • Evidence of development and evaluation of educational programmes
  • Ability to write papers at Directorate and Divisional levels with effective presentation skills
  • Coaching Diploma
Salary:

£46,148 - £52,809 per annum
