Payroll Bureau Support Expert

Job Description: We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Bureau Support Expert to join our team at Penguin Random House.
About the Role:
As a key member of our Group Salaries department, you will be responsible for maintaining daily payroll tasks during the critical Testing & Parallel run phases of our HRIS Programme. This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity for 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily payroll tasks, backfilling roles and responsibilities to free up team members for testing and training.
- Monitor enquiry clearance of shared mailboxes.
- Complete complex calculations on Maternities, Long-Term Sickness (LTS), Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), and leavers.
- Process all Starters, Leavers, and Statutory Absence.
- Manage adhoc data changes across 14 payrolls.
- Raise adhoc advances and 3rd party payments.
- Check team processing for accuracy.
- Complete system audits between the HR & Payroll systems.
- Run payroll reporting suites at month-end.

- Advanced level experience of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Strong communication skills.
- Demonstrable organisational skills and a methodical approach.
- Ability to work effectively with a range of people.
- Determination, resourcefulness, and purpose to deliver.
- Adaptability to change.
- Ideal for candidates from a Payroll Bureau background.
Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
