Role

Forbes Solicitors is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Property Solicitor to join our award-winning team based in the North. As a key member of our Commercial Property Team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional results and providing expert advice to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Handling a varied caseload of Commercial Property matters, including sales, purchases, leases, and development projects;
  • Providing written and verbal advice in litigated and non-litigated matters;
  • Communicating with clients, opponents, courts, and third parties to progress files;
  • Contributing to business development through presentations, training events, and marketing materials;
  • Providing value-added services, such as client helpline calls and legal surgeries;
  • Supporting the Head of Department, Partners, and other advisors on their cases and departmental strategy;
  • Managing and supervising Solicitors and Paralegals to achieve business objectives and professional development goals;
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external business requirements, including quality control and regulatory standards;
  • Monitoring and reporting on financial and business performance;
  • Contributing to internal continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing;
  • Collaborating with other departments on joint files, projects, and events;
  • Developing the departmental business plan;
  • Building positive relationships with clients and enhancing the firm's profile to drive business growth;

Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) with up to 5 years PQE;
  • Previous experience in Commercial Property law and knowledge of IT systems;
  • Proven ability to handle a caseload, manage deadlines, and generate fees in accordance with targets;
  • Strong presentation and client handling skills, with commercial acumen;
  • Good organisational and communication skills;
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated;
  • Ability to supervise and manage others effectively;
  • Collaborative team player with excellent attention to detail;
  • Alignment with our firm's values;
