About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join our award-winning private client team at Forbes Solicitors. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional client service and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a business development strategy to grow our Court of Protection services and build a strong client base.
  • Manage a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications and property and affairs files.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our departmental strategic plan to drive business growth.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, referrers, and stakeholders to enhance our firm's profile.
  • Support the Head of Department, Partners, and other advisors on their cases and contribute to the delivery of our departmental strategy and business objectives.
  • Manage, supervise, train, coach, and mentor Solicitors and Paralegals to facilitate the achievement of their business objectives and professional development goals.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external business requirements, including ISO:9001 quality control and SRA Principles/Code of Conduct.
  • Monitor and report on your financial and business performance, as well as that of colleagues under your management/supervision responsibilities, to deliver work in a profitable manner.
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years PQE in a specialist Court of Protection department/team.
  • Previous Court of Protection experience and expert knowledge of the sector are essential.
  • Experience of handling large projects and business development activities.
  • Strong business development skills to expand the team.
  • Good understanding of how to deliver and grow team productivity.
  • Strong presentation and client handling skills, as well as commercial acumen.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, including Word, Outlook, and case management systems.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A high level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • The ability to supervise, manage, develop, motivate, and inspire others effectively.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team and be reliable and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
