Role

Forbes Solicitors is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Property Solicitor to join our award-winning team based in the North. As a key member of our Commercial Property Team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional results and providing expert advice to our clients.

This is a full-time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. We offer hybrid working arrangements, allowing you to balance your work and personal life. Our team is passionate about providing genuine and practical advice to our clients, and we are committed to maintaining a workforce that reflects the local community.

Responsibilities
  • Handling a varied caseload of Commercial Property matters, including sales, purchases, leases, development projects, property finance, and leasehold management;
  • Providing written and verbal advice in litigated and non-litigated matters;
  • Communicating with clients, opponents, courts, and third parties to progress files;
  • Contributing to business development through presentations, training events, articles, and submissions;
  • Providing value-added services, such as client helpline calls, legal surgeries, and briefing notes;
  • Supporting the Head of Department, Partners, and other advisors on their cases and departmental strategy;
  • Managing, supervising, training, coaching, and mentoring Solicitors and Paralegals to achieve business objectives and professional development goals;
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external business requirements, including ISO:9001 quality control and SRA Principles;
  • Monitoring and reporting on financial and business performance to deliver work in a profitable manner;
  • Contributing to internal continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing;
  • Inter-departmental support and collaboration on joint files, projects, and events;
  • Contributing to the development of the departmental business plan;
  • Building positive relationships with clients and enhancing the firm's profile to drive business growth;

Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) NQ up to 5 years PQE;
  • Previous demonstrable Commercial Property law experience and knowledge is essential;
  • Proven experience of handling own caseload, working to and managing deadlines, alongside the capability to generate fees in accordance with agreed targets;
  • Aptitude or interest in Commercial Property;
  • Strong presentation and client handling skills and be commercially astute;
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, including Word, Outlook, and case management systems;
  • Good organisational and communication skills;
  • Ability to work unsupervised and good self-motivation skills;
  • Ability to supervise and manage others effectively;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team and be reliable and enthusiastic;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
