About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Head of Operations to join our team at Menzies Distribution Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of our Distribution Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management: You will be responsible for managing a team of Warehouse Operatives, providing coaching, training, and motivation to ensure they meet customer timescales and improve productivity.
  2. Quality Standards: You will maintain high-quality standards across all warehouse functions and processes.
  3. Productivity Targets: You will ensure that team productivity targets are achieved, and that the warehouse is safe, clean, and tidy.
  4. Handover Reports: You will provide a comprehensive handover report to the oncoming Shift Manager.
  5. Inductions and Training: You will ensure that all new staff receive inductions and training to enable them to undertake their duties effectively, efficiently, and safely.
  6. Health and Safety: You will ensure that all staff have completed the necessary Health & Safety training.
  7. Warehouse Management: You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the warehouse functions and processes.

Requirements:

  1. Previous Experience: You will have previous supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  2. Prioritisation and Problem-Solving: You will have a good approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and be able to keep a cool head under pressure.
  3. Computer Literacy: You will be computer literate and comfortable working to strict deadlines.
  4. Communication Skills: You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with a team.
