About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Night Manager to join our team at Menzies Distribution Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of our Distribution Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Management: Manage and motivate a team of Warehouse Operatives to meet customer timescales and improve productivity.
  2. Quality Standards: Maintain quality standards and ensure that all staff are trained to meet these standards.
  3. Productivity Targets: Ensure that team productivity targets are achieved and that all staff are working efficiently.
  4. Handover Reports: Provide a comprehensive handover report to the oncoming Shift Manager to ensure a smooth transition of duties.
  5. Inductions and Training: Ensure that all new staff receive a thorough induction and that all staff receive regular training to ensure they are able to undertake their duties effectively, efficiently, and safely.
  6. Health and Safety: Ensure that all staff have completed the necessary Health and Safety training and that the warehouse is a safe and healthy working environment.
  7. Warehouse Management: Manage the end-to-end warehouse functions and processes to ensure that all operations are running smoothly.
  8. Housekeeping: Ensure that the warehouse is kept safe, clean, and tidy at all times.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Previous supervisory or managerial experience is preferred.
  2. Prioritisation and Problem-Solving: A good approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and the ability to keep a cool head under pressure.
  3. Computer Literacy: Computer literate and able to use a range of software applications.
  4. Communication Skills: Great communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
