Deputy Night Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Night Manager to join our team at Menzies Distribution in Sheffield. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of our Distribution Centre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and motivate a team of Warehouse Operatives to meet customer timescales and improve productivity
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure team productivity targets are achieved
  • Provide a smooth handover to the oncoming Shift Manager and ensure inductions are carried out for all new staff
  • Deliver training to all staff and contractors to ensure they can undertake their duties effectively, efficiently, and safely
  • Ensure all staff have completed necessary Health & Safety training and manage the end-to-end warehouse functions and processes
  • Keep the warehouse safe, clean, and tidy
Requirements:
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience is preferred
  • A good approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and keeping a cool head under pressure
  • A common-sense approach to problem-solving and computer literacy
  • Comfortable working to strict deadlines and great communication skills
