Job Summary

The Priory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to provide senior nursing leadership to the ward nursing team in support of the Ward Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Ward Manager in providing day-to-day management and supervision of the ward, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
  • Implement best practices and standards across the ward, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Support changes within the service, driving innovation and growth while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Provide clinical direction and leadership to the ward team, ensuring the delivery of personalized care and contributing to service improvement.
  • Support and contribute to multidisciplinary team practice, fostering collaboration and effective communication among healthcare professionals.
  • Implement and evaluate therapeutic interventions within an overall care program, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Assist the Ward Manager in ensuring that care and treatment meet the standards set by regulators, maintaining a high level of compliance and quality.
Requirements
  • Active registration with the NMC, meeting the requirements of revalidation.
  • Clinical supervision experience is essential, with training in leadership and management desirable.
  • Evidence of continued professional development and intent to maintain and develop leadership skills.
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Good computer skills, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
  • Experience in mental health or learning disability services, with a minimum of 3 years' experience post-registration.
