Job Title: Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse - PICU Ward

Job Summary:

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse to join our team at a leading mental health hospital in the UK. As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Work as a Senior Nurse in a Ward or equivalent area, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families, and visitors.
  • Policy and Governance: Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicate requirements to the wider team.
  • Risk Management: Ensure that risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment and that statutory requirements are met.
  • Equality and Diversity: Respect and apply the requirements of equality and diversity, promoting and role modeling these across the team.
  • Staffing and Skill Mix: Identify deficits in skill mix and safe staffing levels and act to address these.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified as a Registered Nurse (RMN or RNLD Nurse) with a current active NMC Pin.
  • Experience: At least 3 years, or equivalent experience post-registration, preferably in Mental Health or Learning Disability services.
  • Skills: Experienced in delivering and receiving supervision, excellent leadership skills, ability to assess and prioritize clinical situations, and effective communication between medical and nursing staff.
