Job Title: Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse to join our team at a leading mental health hospital in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.

About the Role:

As a Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families, and visitors. You will work closely with the ward team to apply relevant policies and statutory requirements, and communicate effectively with the wider team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the ward team to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Applying policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework
  • Ensuring risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment
  • Respecting and promoting equality and diversity across the team
  • Identifying deficits in skill mix and safe staffing levels and acting to address these
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must be a qualified Registered Nurse (RMN or RNLD) with a current active NMC Pin. Experience in mental health or learning disability services is preferred, as is the ability to assess and prioritize clinical situations.

The successful candidate will receive an excellent salary of £40,014 - £43,313.92 per annum DOE, plus a £5,000 welcome bonus. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours a week, with a range of benefits including free onsite parking, subsidised lunches, and career progression opportunities.
