Job Title: Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse to join our team at a leading mental health hospital in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as a senior nurse in a ward or equivalent area, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families, and visitors.
  • Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicate requirements to the wider team.
  • Ensure that risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment and that statutory requirements are met.
  • Respect and apply the requirements of equality and diversity, promoting and role modeling these across the team.
  • Identify deficits in skill mix and safe staffing levels and act to address these.
Requirements:
  • Qualified as a Registered Nurse (RMN or RNLD Nurse) with a current active NMC Pin.
  • Experience in delivering and receiving supervision.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize clinical situations.
  • Management of effective communication between medical and nursing staff both verbal and written.
  • Experience in Mental Health or Learning Disability services.
  • At least 3 years, or equivalent experience post-registration.
