Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse Salary

£40,000 - £48,000, depending on experience and ward

Hours

37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in leading and supporting the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to patients with mental health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the nursing staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of comprehensive care plans, tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ward, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Mentor and support junior staff members, providing guidance and opportunities for professional development.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, therapists, and social workers, to deliver holistic patient care.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient safety and risk management, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of services by actively participating in evaluations and identifying areas for enhancement.
Qualifications
  • Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) qualification.
  • Current registration with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a mental health setting.
  • Experience working in adult acute, CAMHS, or PICU settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
