About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at St Ann's Hospice. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in our palliative care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and deliver individualized care to patients with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Lead on the delivery of specialist palliative and supportive care, ensuring individual care needs are assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated.
  • Use professional judgment when assessing patient needs/problems and investigations requiring analysis and intervention.
  • Organize own time and that of junior learners, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy.
  • Ensure effective communication and documentation of patient information to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct, hospice values, policies, and procedures, and professional guidelines.
Requirements
  • Current 1st-level Registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Relevant post-registration palliative care experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, problem-solve, and demonstrate awareness of own limitations.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to delegate tasks as appropriate.
  • Positive approach to work, with a willingness to be flexible and adaptable to internal rotation and unsocial hours.
  • Motivation to develop personal and professional skills, with a willingness to mentor junior colleagues.
  • Compassionate and caring approach to patient care.
