About the Role

As a Sales and Business Development Manager covering the East Anglia Region, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and expansion for Biffa, the UK's No. 1 choice for business waste management.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced sales professional to lead and manage a team to achieve sales targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative commercial and marketing strategies to drive additional profitability for our Industrial and Commercial division.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and motivate a team to deliver against sales targets, utilizing performance management processes and employee development to meet business KPIs and customer requirements.
  2. Implement commercial strategies to retain the customer base and grow contribution from existing customers through active contact and/or account management.
  3. Develop and implement a strategy to secure new key accounts, identify opportunities, and build a pipeline, ensuring product and customer diversification.
  4. Identify and secure new business tendering opportunities, explore their commerciality, viability, chances of success, and fit within the capability of the I&C depot network.
  5. Build key internal and external relationships with customers and suppliers at all levels.
  6. Work closely with operations to ensure quality of service and account retention through Regional Account Managers, Business Improvement Managers, and Account Executives.
  7. Accountable for developing new and innovative sales and marketing campaigns using various media and possess strong presentation, selling, negotiating, and influential skills.

  • Solid pragmatic approach to delivering to tight deadlines and targets.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
