We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Hospital Receptionist to join our team at One Hatfield Hospital, part of the Phoenix Hospital Group. As a Hospital Receptionist, you will provide an efficient, courteous, and welcoming service to accommodate the needs of all patients and visitors to the hospital reception and/or outpatient department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Appointment bookings, admission bookings, reception duties, check-in procedures for patients, receipt of payment for bills, and participation in preparation for clinic lists.
- Prepare documents and complete forms as per department procedures and business requirements.
- Liaise regularly with internal and external customers, ensuring that all incoming calls via switchboard are answered in a timely manner in line with company best practice.
- Resolve customer queries, whether in person, via telephone, or email, in a professional manner.
- Verify patients' medical insurance details prior to admission.
- Undertake general office duties and any other duties as may be requested by department lead.
Requirements:
- Minimum GCSE education or equivalent.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
- Previous administration experience in a business/healthcare sector environment.
- 2 years relevant experience within an administrative or customer services role.
Skills:
- Demonstrate customer service skills and awareness.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- To be able to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible attitude and approach to the role.
- Good computer skills and confidence in using an array of computer software.
