Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and compassionate environment, providing holistic care to children and their families. As a Palliative Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, promoting empowerment, advocacy, and partnership with families.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide individualised holistic care and support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
  • To supervise children and young people in the absence of their parents or carers.
  • To communicate effectively with all members of the care team.
  • To promote evidence-based practices and adhere to clinical governance guidelines.
  • To manage own workload during respite visits and office-based duties.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate nurse with experience in palliative care and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification

We require:

  • A registered nurse (RSCN/RN Child) with current NMC registration.
  • Relevant post-registration experience, including palliative and/or end-of-life care.
  • The ability to use advanced communication skills to communicate compassionately and sensitively.
  • Able to advocate and empower vulnerable young children and their families.
