Job Overview

This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Palliative care team at Kings College hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering expert nursing services, managing patient caseloads, and developing evidence-based clinical practice.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. Work as a clinical nurse specialist, effectively delivering an expert nursing service within the multi-professional palliative care team.
  2. Manage a caseload of patients with specialist palliative care needs.
  3. Assist in the development of evidence-based clinical nursing practice, in line with current research and guidelines.
  4. Establish and maintain clear lines of communication within palliative care, ensuring cohesive multidisciplinary management of patients.
  5. Link with other palliative care and primary care providers, facilitating care in the community and minimizing challenges of care transition.

The ideal candidate will have significant post-registration experience, ideally a minimum of 2 years working autonomously in a palliative care environment. They must be able to make complex assessments of palliative care patients and their families, providing appropriate advice for symptom management and suitable holistic support.

A Post registration qualification in Palliative care or relevant subject is essential, along with Training in communication skills / advanced communication skills. The candidate should also be an NMC Registered Nurse with BSc in a health-related/ relevant subject or equivalent, and Non-medical prescriber with V300 registration.

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, innovative, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £54,320 - £60,981 per annum pro rata, including HCA benefits. This is a competitive salary, reflective of the role's responsibilities and the trust's commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
