About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Nurse Specialist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse to work with our multidisciplinary team, providing expert care to patients with complex palliative care needs.
The successful candidate will have significant post-registration experience in palliative care, with a proven ability to make complex assessments and develop comprehensive management plans.
Key Responsibilities
- To work as a clinical nurse specialist, delivering expert nursing care to patients with complex palliative care needs.
- To manage a caseload of patients, working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide seamless care coordination.
- To participate in the development of evidence-based clinical nursing practice, staying up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines.
- To act as a role model, supporting the delivery of palliative care education within the trust.
- To engage in the team's governance and service development program, contributing to the ongoing improvement of our services.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A post-registration qualification in Palliative Care or a relevant subject.
- Significant post-registration experience in palliative care, ideally a minimum of 2 years working autonomously in a similar environment.
- Excellent assessment and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Computer literacy, with the ability to interact with various IT systems and clinical databases.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £45,416 - £59,056 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including:
